About me

Hello! My name is Patricia Kambitsch.

Who I am:

I am an interdisciplinary artist and author.

I facilitate dialogue through the visual arts, theatre, creative movement, and dance. I am a longstanding member of Design with Dialogue , a Toronto-based community of practice that develops leadership and facility in co-creating positive social and organizational change. As a former classroom teacher and adviser for over twenty years in urban public schools, I helped found one of the first Gates Foundation-funded Early College High Schools for low-income youth in Dayton, Ohio.

I host a monthly event called Visual Thinkers Show and Tell that meets at OCAD University in Toronto. Visual Thinkers is a community of practice dedicated to unlocking the potentials of Visual Thinking.Ā  Each fourth Tuesday of the month, we gather to bring together our interests and our practices.

Why I do what I do:

Sometimes words are not enough to fully engage in the important conversations of our lives. In my work I seek to include all of us: all our senses, all our imaginations, all our creative powers through the tools of the arts: including-but not limited to-drawing, storytelling and dance. I am a lifelong teacher and learner, and I hold B.A. and M.A. degrees from the University of Dayton.
